Hot-dip galvanized wireGalvanized steel wire is steel wire with a zinc coating, supplied in diameters from 0.8 to 8 mm (0.031 to 0.31 in) with a coating weight of 50 to 300 g/m². Standards: EN 10244-2 and ASTM A641. Origin: Türkiye, other qualified mills on request.
Black annealed wireBlack annealed wire, also sold as tie wire, or binding wire, is soft heat-treated steel wire in diameters from 0.8 to 8 mm (0.031 to 0.31 in) with a tensile strength of 300 to 450 N/mm². Standard: EN 10218-2. Origin: Türkiye, other qualified mills on request.
Cold drawn wireCold drawn wire, also called drawn wire or bright wire, is steel wire pulled to size at room temperature, in diameters from 0.8 to 6 mm (0.031 to 0.24 in) with a tensile strength of 500 to 1,000 N/mm². Standard: EN 10218-2. Origin: Türkiye, other qualified mills on request.
High carbon spring wireSpring wire, or high carbon steel wire for springs, is supplied in diameters from 1.3 to 4 mm (0.051 to 0.16 in) for coil springs and formed parts. Standards are on request. Origin: Türkiye, other qualified mills on request.

Wire gauge to millimetres

Gauge numbers differ between the Birmingham (BWG), the British Standard (SWG) and the US Steel Wire Gauge systems. Pick a system and a gauge to read the diameter, or use the table.

The same gauge number gives a different diameter in each system, so the millimetre value is what matters when ordering: always give the diameter in mm in a quote request.
