Binding wire supplier for UAE importers

A UAE buyer sourcing binding wire from Türkiye should fix the order before asking for offers: black annealed or galvanized, diameter in millimetres, coil weight, packing, quantity, discharge port and an Incoterms rule. Customs duty and paperwork are then confirmed with a customs broker.

What does a UAE buyer need to decide first?

Buyers in the United Arab Emirates who search for a binding wire supplier are usually contractors, traders in construction supplies or wholesalers who resell coils to site crews. Directory listings show many names, but they do not tell you what to put in an order.

Start with the name. Binding wire and tie wire are two names for black annealed wire, a soft steel wire that crews twist by hand when tying and binding in construction work. GI wire is galvanized wire, steel wire with a zinc coating. If you only write “binding wire” in a request, suppliers will assume the uncoated finish. If your customers work outdoors or in damp air, say galvanized and give the coating mass. Our comparison of black annealed vs galvanized tie wire covers the choice.

How should the order be specified?

Five points make offers comparable.

Points a binding wire request for the UAE should state

FinishBlack annealed, or galvanized with a coating figureGalvanized: 50 to 300 g/m²
DiameterOne figure in mm per item0.8 to 8 mm
StandardThe tolerance standard for the diameterEN 10218-2
Coil or roll weightThe weight your customers handle, per coil or rollDetails field of the form
QuantityTonnes, per diameterPer order

Diameter in millimetres. Customers in the Gulf often ask for a gauge number, and gauge systems disagree on what each number means. Our guide to binding wire gauge sizes lists gauge numbers in mm, and the wire gauge chart shows the full table. Write the millimetre figure.

Standard. EN 10218-2 sets tolerances on the diameter of round steel wire, whether uncoated or coated, so naming it puts a size tolerance in every offer. We quote black annealed wire to EN 10218-2.

Coil weight and packing. Say which coil or roll weight suits your warehouse and your customers. If you have no preference, ask each offer to state its usual packing. Coil weight and packing also decide how many tonnes fit in a container.

How does a container get to a UAE port?

Binding wire usually travels in dry containers. How much a container carries depends on the weight of each coil, the packing and the container’s own limit, and it is confirmed for each order. The published limits for 20 ft and 40 ft containers are collected in our container loading guide, and the mass of a given wire can be worked out with the wire weight calculator.

Name the discharge port in the request. Jebel Ali is a deep sea port in Dubai, managed by DP World, and Khalifa Port lies in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, so both are container gateways for the country. If you are buying for Sharjah or another emirate, give the port or place you want, and let your forwarder confirm the route. We state no transit time here, because it depends on the route and the shipping line.

Which delivery term should you pick?

The International Chamber of Commerce publishes the Incoterms rules, which set who pays for what and who carries the risk. The quote form lists all eleven.

Three of them are sea-only rules. FOB, CFR and CIF apply only to sales that involve transport by water. Under CFR the seller pays the freight to the named destination port, and risk passes to the buyer once the goods are loaded on board the ship. CIF is similar, except that the seller must also take out insurance. Reference works add a caution: FOB and CIF are meant for non-containerized sea freight, so for a wire coil load in containers it is worth asking your forwarder whether a rule for any mode of transport, such as FCA, CPT or CIP, fits better.

Whichever rule you choose, write it together with the named port, so every supplier prices the same thing. Our guide on how steel wire is priced shows what each rule includes.

What should you confirm with a customs broker?

The duties, the tariff line and the paperwork for your shipment depend on the goods and on UAE rules, and this guide does not state them. A customs broker is the person who prepares the documents and obtains clearance, and the role differs from country to country, so choose one who clears steel wire in the port you name. The UAE belongs to the Gulf Cooperation Council, whose customs union is described as completed and fully operational. Ask the broker how the common rules apply to your wire.

Questions to put to the broker before you order:

  • Which tariff line applies to black annealed wire and to galvanized wire? Our note on how steel wire is classified for customs shows where each sits in the Harmonized System.
  • Which duty and taxes apply, and who pays them?
  • Which documents must accompany the shipment, and in whose name should they be issued?
  • Does any product conformity or registration rule apply to this wire?

Expect the bill of lading among the papers. It is a receipt, a record of the contract of carriage and a document of title. Ask your supplier and forwarder early which documents they will issue, so the broker can review them before the coils sail.

How does a quotation work with Reinwent?

Reinwent is a trading and sourcing company, not a manufacturer. It takes your specification, asks several suppliers to quote on it, sets the offers on one basis, with the same finish, diameter, packing and delivery term, and stays in contact until delivery. You deal with one point of contact. Some products are available from stock, and your quotation states what applies to your order.

For a UAE request, send:

  1. the finish and the diameter in mm;
  2. the quantity in tonnes per diameter;
  3. the coil weight or packing you prefer;
  4. the discharge port and the Incoterms rule.

You receive a quotation within 12 hours. The binding wire guide for importers covers a full order in more detail, the tie wire guide compares both finishes, and the galvanized wire guide for importers explains coating figures. Questions buyers ask

How do I find a binding wire supplier for the UAE?

Write the specification first: finish, diameter in mm, coil weight, packing, quantity and port. Then ask for offers on that one specification. Reinwent collects offers from several suppliers, sets them on one basis and gives you one point of contact.

Is binding wire the same as GI wire or tie wire in the UAE?

Binding wire and tie wire are two names for black annealed wire. GI wire is galvanized wire, which carries a zinc coating. They are different finishes, so state which one you want.

Which delivery term suits a container to a UAE port?

That depends on who books the freight. CFR and CIF are sea freight terms in which the seller pays the freight to the named port; CIF adds insurance. For containers, the Incoterms rules written for any mode of transport are also worth asking about. Name the port in the request.

Which UAE port should I name?

The one your forwarder or broker will clear the goods through. Jebel Ali in Dubai and Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi are two container ports in the country. If you buy for Sharjah or another emirate, give the port or place you want and confirm the route with your forwarder.

What customs duty applies to binding wire in the UAE?

We do not state a rate, because duties and tariff lines change and depend on the goods. Ask your customs broker which tariff line and which rate apply to your wire, and which documents they need, before you order.

Which sizes can I order through Reinwent?

For a UAE order, black annealed wire is quoted in diameters from 0.8 to 8 mm, to EN 10218-2, with a tensile strength of 300 to 450 N/mm². Galvanized wire is quoted in the same diameters, with zinc coating of 50 to 300 g/m².

How fast will I get a quotation for the UAE?

Send the request through the quote form and you receive a quotation within 12 hours. Name the destination port and the delivery term so the quotation covers your route.

Does Reinwent manufacture binding wire?

No. Reinwent is a trading and sourcing company, not a manufacturer. We put your specification to manufacturers, compare their offers for you and follow the order until the coils reach you.
